Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

I am mother to two young adults in their mid to late 20's. I work in the medical field as an admin officer/personal assistant. I look forward to the day when I can spend heaps more time taking and making photographs. However, for now, the bills have to be paid. I married a jazz musician many, many years ago. My adopted home is Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. I am originally from North Queensland... a tropical place!

Once again, another day without anything particularly interesting to report or new photos from the day to show. I guess I do have many hundreds of photos that I took at Docklands to keep me going for a long time to come.

These two ducks swam into view while I was photographing the cruise boats across the inlet. I think they make this photo.

Nothing in particular came my way today so I am posting another photo taken at Docklands on Saturday 27-05-06.

Another photo which I really like that I took last Saturday. This says to me: "come sail with me!" and I'm definitely not a sailor. I hope you enjoy it as well.

The Bolte Bridge, Melbourne, taken from Docklands early morning just on dawn.

My adventure for Saturday was to get up very early (4:30am) to go to Docklands, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to do a photo shoot looking, in particular, at lightl. I took nearly 500 photos ... here is one of them that I like very much.

Fog, smog and more fog! Some views of the same section of Melbourne city taken over the last two weeks.

The first photo was taken this morning at 9:30am. At 6am there was no fog... it was a beautiful morning with a blue sky. The fog started rolling in around 7am. Around 10:00am it started to disperse. Soon after I took this photo, the tops of the buildings disappeared for about half an hour.

The second photo was taken on the 18-05-06. The smog that day wasn't as thick as the fog of this morning.

The third photo shows that section of the city as it looks without smog or fog. Taken 04-05-06 before the last couple of weeks of fog/smog started.

One of my favourite photos is of a miniture gladdioli. These flowers grow wild in my garden and no matter how many times I dig them out, they return!

On my way to work this morning, while waiting at the bus stop at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, I happened to look up and discovered a quiet machine motoring through the air. Here are some photos of the event.

The central part of Melbourne City looking south from Carlton. This was taken late one afternoon a few weeks ago. There was a storm coming in from the South but there was a strong sun setting to the West. Made for a lovely photo of the city.

A couple of months ago, my daughter and I went to Trentham for a relaxing, pampering, long weekend. Driving between Trentham and Daylesford, I saw this old piece of farm machinery sitting in a paddock so, when I had a minute, I went and took a lot of photos of it. This was actually the odd photo out but I really like it and I hope you can appreciate it.

Sunday 21-05-06. I have spent a lovely afternoon with two friends and a baby having cups of tea and slices of home-cooked chocolate cake. This is the view from where I was sitting ... lovely!

The first photo above looks over the north-east area of Melbourne viewed from Carlton taken around mid-morning early this week (Monday 15th May).

Melbourne has been covered in dense fog/smog for the last two mornings. The photo above looks north-east from Carlton this morning (Friday 19th May) at approximately 8:50am. The two photos help give some idea of the extent of the smog around Melbourne at the moment.

... And this was the view that met me this morning on my way to work at 7:45am. It seems to me that we haven't had such a fog for a long time.

This was the view from my workplace as I was leaving at 5:30pm on Wednesday 17th May 2006. It seems to me that the skies over Melbourne have not been so colourful for a long time so, even though the photo is not the clearest, I like to be reminded that the skies can look like this.
